The report:
- provides a record of volunteer and career staff activities, events and performance
- acknowledges the support of CFA members
- describes the actions being taken by CFA in response to the 2009 Victoria Bushfires Royal Commission recommendations
- informs the government and public about CFA's services and organisational development during the financial year.

Note: The CFA Annual Report is produced in accordance with Government direction to obtain value for money in procuring services to design and print publications. Financial Reporting Direction 30 prescribes guidelines for production, including minimising the use of photographs, presenting content in black and white only with colour limited to the covers and charts, minimising the number of pages and printing in A4 size.
