Today is World Mental Health Day – an opportunity for us to think about our own wellbeing as well as the wellbeing of others.

World Mental Health Day is marked each year on 10 October to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health.

Many Australians will experience a mental illness in their lifetime however many will not seek treatment or support.

“This year has been another challenging year for us all,” Chief Officer Jason Heffernan said.

“It’s never been more important for us to pay attention to how we are feeling, and if we need help with our mental health and wellbeing, to feel comfortable to reach out and get help.

“This World Mental Health Day, it’s also important to check in on others, really listen and encourage action if it’s needed.

“Sometimes a conversation can make a world of difference.”

If at any time you are worried about your psychological wellbeing or the wellbeing of someone you know, there is always help available through.
