CFA & Brigades Donations Fund ('the Trust') is a public charitable trust set up for the benefit of brigades.
Money donated to the CFA & Brigades Donations Fund help fund the work of CFA brigades in the local community. This includes equipping brigades with safety equipment, trucks, enhancing brigade facilities, as well as funding community programs and initiatives to prepare the community ahead of the fire season. Money donated to CFA augments essential government funding.
Community members can choose to donate directly to the CFA & Brigades Donations Fund or to a specific brigade. If a community member nominates a specific brigade, 100 per cent of donated amounts are disbursed to the nominated brigade. If a donor doesn’t nominate a specific brigade, the trustees will apply those funds to projects that benefit volunteers more broadly.
CFA & Brigades Donation Fund has Deductible Gift Recipient status (DGR) Item1 and is a Registered Charity with ACNC. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Trustees
The Trust is administered by a board of seven appointed Trustees from CFA and includes majority representation from the VFBV who meet at least four times every year.
