Students develop a prototype of their solution, test it out with the target users and refine it. They continue to engage in an iterative process of prototyping, testing and refining to design their final product. Students then share their final products with their school community at a showcase event.

Ideate

In this module, students will develop ideas and potential solutions for their chosen problem, assess them for feasibility and choose an idea to pursue further. They will practice their 'pitch' and giving/receiving critical feedback.

Low Fidelity Prototyping

Phase three - Take Action

This is the final phase in a three step process to empower students with the knowledge, skills and understandings required to identify and solve local bushfire related problems. This phase supports the students to generate creative solutions, prototype their ideas, consult with experts and refine their final product. This typically culminates in a showcase where they can share their final products and learnings with their school community. This program was co-funded as a research utilisation project by the Victorian Government Safer Together program (led by CFA’s Fire Risk, Research and Community Preparedness team, the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, and Natural Hazards Research Australia.
